Mayor Rabbi Meir Rubinstein responded to the findings of the study, which show that 'residents of Beitar Ilit have the highest probability of ascending a public transportation vehicle within 15 minutes of waiting' * "We have fought hard to prove that it is possible, and during the past five years we have added another 15 buses, the daily routes have been doubled and currently, 1234 bus rides take place every day"

"The public transportation system "Ilit" is the most high-quality one in Israel, and we serve as a model for other companies. We have fought hard to prove that it is possible", said Mayor Rabbi Meir Rubinstein in a response to a study conducted by the "15 Minutes" organization. The study, which was a first of its kind in Israel, observed the quality of services that Israelis receive through public transportation companies, proved that he "Ilit" company gives the best service, as Beitar Ilit residents have the highest chance of ascending a bus within 15 minutes of waiting.

The mayor said that the findings match the findings of the Transportation Ministry, which conducted a study several months ago. That study also showed that Beitar Ilit residents receive the best quality service by the "Ilit" bus company. The study included 30 different criteria which were tested in four different contexts: the original bus stop, throughout the bus route, the infrastructure and the conductors' reports.

Rabbi Rubinstein said that during the past five years, many enhancements had been made to the infrastructure in the city. 50 new roofed bus-stops have been purchased, all old buses were replaced by new ones, a new, spacious terminal was built, a central Service Site was established in the city and digital info screens were put up. But perhaps the most important factor is that the number of daily bus rides has doubled to 1234 rides per day. Furthermore, 11 bus routes have been considerably reinforced, 6 bus routes have been split to better serve the residents and another 15 inter-city bus routes have been added, to the total of 32 bus routes.

Rabbi Rubinstein praised Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz and seniors from his ministry, Mr. Yehuda Elbaz and Mr. Dror Ganon. He also praised Execuitive Director of the "Ilit" company, Mr. Zion Pt and the company's senior advisor, Rabbi Moshe Aharon Yaakovzon for their hard work and dedication. "The major improvements that we have managed to achieve, were made possible thanks to the goodwill and listening ears of seniors from the Transportation Ministry, municipal representatives and the directors of public transportation companies".
